Bruno Catalano was born in France in 1960.
The universal theme of travel still inspires Catalano. Since he started to knead clay, some hundred or so “travelers” have come out of his feverish hands, populating his studio whilst awaiting an unknown destination. If his first works, compact and conventional, stay tied to the elements of the earth, the series that follows does not cease to acquire in expressivity and finesse. These astonishing works, with their dashed bodies and the determined lack of volume, invite the viewer to mentally reconstitute its limits.
Bruno Catalano has had numerous exhibitions in France, United States, England and China.
