Ravski directs our gaze to the objects of his desires—lush fabrics that shimmer and flesh that inspires carnal longing. His realism serves a purpose: the fear of replacing the fragility of memory with the fixity of captured appearance. Yet, beyond the tactile reality rendered by his technique, it is the psychological and social impact that takes precedence over the pursuit of material "substance."
